Improved Azure outage assistance by Microsoft

Improved Azure outage assistance by Microsoft (1)

Microsoft announced the plans to enhance the outage alerts issued to Azure end-users. They intend to deploy similar methods for Power Platform and Microsoft 365 services. The organization has designed customized individual Service Health pages, instead of the traditional public-facing Azure Status website. The platform’s support page on Twitter redirects the users to look at the customized pages and prompts them to direct message the Twitter handle to gain the latest news on the outage.

The organization aims to inform all affected users within 15 minutes of the outage. Such notifications are managed by both automation tools and humans. Automation tools have sent out the majority of the messages in the last quarter, and the organization is planning to reduce further the time required to inform users.
