Huawei Technologies is planning to introduce its new operating system, Harmony OS. This move is viewed as its replacement to the Google Android mobile operating system by 2021 – primarily as it seeks to overcome the curbs placed on it by the US administration.
As per the industry analysts, it is going to be the closest solution to a replacement for Android. This is after its addition to the US entity list in 2019 that barred Google from allowing technical support for new Huawei smartphones using Android.

Wang Chenglu, President of Huawei Consumer Business Software, stated, “The milestone we’re marking is that we’re supporting Huawei devices from Harmony OS 2.0, but at the same time Harmony OS 2.0 may also be available to other vendors’ devices.”
