Huawei Suppliers Push to Alter Donald Trump’s Last Blow

Semiconductor companies seek extra time to demand last-minute Trump administration moves in order to block sales to Huawei, the Chinese telecoms company. This is with the hope to proceed against the odds that the new US administration will reverse the progress.

Many company executives noted that they ultimately do not believe the Biden administration will considerably soften the hard-line situation. Billions of dollars of US chip and technology sales to Huawei hinge on how this administration applies export restrictions – which the previous administration had implemented.

The technology companies hope that some of the prohibited Huawei sales will be permitted with a potential policy shift.
