Chinese tech giant Huawei has requested a meeting with the UK Prime Minister, presumably
to delay its removal from the country’s 5G network.
Huawei is seeking to hold-up its delay its elimination until after elections in June 2025. In
return, it has urged to maintain its equipment in the country to be used for the 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. This is with the expectation that the new British government might reverse
the decision.
Boris Johnson has been facing intense pressure from the US as well as some UK lawmakers
to ban the telecommunications firm on security grounds.
