Huawei is working towards shifting its research center to Canada from the United States, reports Reuters. The company founder Ren Zhengfei revealed the same in an interview with Canada’s Globe and Mail.
The latest news comes a day after reports of the US trying to stall more foreign shipments of products with U.S. technology to Huawei. The company will also manufacture some mobile network equipment outside China. Ren Zhengfei is looking forward to building a new factory capacity in Europe to make 5G networking equipment. Earlier in May, the U.S. Commerce Department placed Huawei on a trade blacklist, citing national security concerns.
