Meng Wanzhou, Chief Financial Officer at Huawei is now seeking to bar the publication of documents that her legal team received from HSBC.
This is a request opposed by Canadian prosecutors in her US extradition case that says it violates the principles of the open court. Her legal team will present arguments in support of this ban to the British Columbia Supreme Court.
Meng was arrested at Vancouver International Airport on a warrant from the US where she faced charges of bank fraud – for allegedly misleading HSBC about Huawei’s business dealings, potentially causing the bank to break down US sanctions in Iran.
