Huawei founder and CEO Ren Zhengfe told Reuters that the company is not in direct talks with any of the U.S. companies to license 5G. He stated that the company had not received any potential proposals from the US companies to buy the intellectual property underpinning its 5G technology.
Earlier in October, Huawei executive told Reuters that the company was in early-stage talks with some U.S. telecoms companies about licensing. Ren stated that discussing the deal with the US companies is not as easy as middlemen who initiate the discussions do not necessarily represent them.
