HP has agreed to buy Poly (previously Plantronics) for USD 1.7 billion, making the total transaction value at USD 3.3 billion, including debt. HP’s offer of USD 40 per share is a 53 percent premium over Poly’s most recent closing price.
The latest acquisition, according to HP, further strengthens its industry opportunity in hybrid work solutions, and prepares the firm for long-term sustainable development and value generation.
Poly had courted other suitors earlier, despite the sale remaining mostly under the radar until this disclosure. While the transaction remained largely under the radar until this announcement, Poly had courted other suitors previously.
