Hitachi has proclaimed that it will buy American-based digital engineering services firm GlobalLogic for $9.6 billion under global expansion projects for its IoT digital services business Lumada.
The company said the purchase would allow the company to concentrate on key focus areas like energy, IT, industry, and mobility, while also allowing it to expedite digital transformation efforts for healthcare, rail, and energy.
Toshiaki Higashihara, Hitachi President and CEO, said that the acquisition of GlobalLogic creates room for opportunities for Hitachi to expand their offerings of Lumada solutions and services. Additionally, it gives value to customers in their digital transformation journey and builds their Lumada business globally.
