Google has announced it will invest $ 1 billion in five years in its new Australian Digital Future Initiative.

The Digital Future Initiative will focus on creating new jobs and building Australian technology infrastructure, investing in Australian technology talent, digital infrastructure, and developing technological relationships, says Google CEO Sundar Pichai.

As part of the investment in building Australian technology talent, Google will create its first research center in the country, and as a part of that facility, Google will create a team of local researchers and engineers who will use AI processes to explore job creation, education, and training.

The initiative will also create an additional 28,057 jobs in Australia and is close to AU $ 6.5 billion in GDP growth.
