Google Starts Rolling Out Play Store Data Safety Section (1)

Google has begun rolling out its new data security section on the Play Store for Android users. The new part will compel makers of mobile applications to educate users about how they gather data, who has access to it, and what data is collected. 

Additionally, users will be able to see whether the developer has qualified their security practises against a globally recognised security standard, whether the app has committed to following Google Play’s Families Policy, and more granular information about an app’s security practises, such as whether users can request data deletion. 

Google will also compel developers to update their data security policies if their apps’ functionality or data handling practises change.
