Alphabet Inc’s Google announced Google Workspace on Tuesday as the new name for its package of business tools, which includes both email and document editing, replacing the existing G Suite brand introduced in 2016.
The rebranding coincides precisely with the launch of features that integrate different services, such as the ability to do a video chat with co-workers displaying in a small box at the corner of the document-editing window.

The coronavirus pandemic has increased the pace of online sales of business tools and forced vendors like Microsoft Corp and Google to refashion their offering as an effort to virtually mimic office routines, such as recreational breaks.
Google vice president Javier Soltero confirmed that the new name reflected that “work isn’t happening in a physical space that’s called an office anymore.”
