Google Promises to Expand Data Centers, Not Carbon Footprint (1)

Data-center presence tech giant Google is fast expanding in Europe with increasing demand for online services. Work is underway in Finland for the construction of Google’s sixth data center in Europe, following the opening last week of a new building in Denmark.

With these new facilities, the tech giant also renewed its commitment to a carbon-free future. Instead of increasing carbon emissions, the new facilities will be accelerating the EU’s commitment to tackling climate change.

Google’s investment in new European infrastructure is the direct result of exploding consumer demand for services ranging from Google Maps to YouTube videos, accelerated by the coronavirus pandemic and the shift to remote working and online learning.
