The new enterprise-grade, commercial version of the Google Earth Engine hosted by Google Cloud will be available to any business or government organization. In 2010, Google first released Earth Engine for scientists and non-profit organizations.
According to Google Cloud, it is now commercializing Earth Engine to serve business clients who place a high value on sustainability. Businesses are under pressure from investors, authorities and customers to cut their carbon emissions.
In order to accomplish its sustainability goals, Google is launching new products that promise to provide them with better and more data. In addition, Google Cloud is introducing a number of other solutions for businesses aiming to reduce their carbon footprint.
