According to a company blog post published Wednesday, Google aims to invest $9.5 billion in offices and data centres in the United States this year.
The scope of the project comprises existing office developments in Austin, Boulder, Cambridge, and Pittsburgh, as well as a new office development in Atlanta and data centre development in Tennessee, Virginia, and Oklahoma (shown).
While the data centre sector is expanding as a result of increasing investment and frenetic construction activity, the office sector has struggled to reintegrate personnel on a national scale following the COVID-19 epidemic. According to the firm, the 9.5 billion USD investment is expected to result in approximately 12,000 new full-time employees at Google by year’s end.
