Google has inked a deal with the largest health care systems in the U.S. to gather personal health care information. The company has teamed up with Ascension medical system, which operates 150 hospitals in 20 states. Google is looking forward to design new software with the data that will suggest improvements in patient care directly to individual patients.
Ascension said the partnership complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), which safeguards medical information.
