Google_ IBM_ and AWS Back legislation to create a National AI Research Cloud Platform

Tech giants including Google, IBM, AWS, Nvidia and other organizations have teamed up with Stanford University and Ohio State University to back the idea of a national AI research cloud. The cloud platform would help researchers across the US gain access to compute power and data sets freely available to companies like Google. Several tech companies have supported the bill, which was introduced in the Senate and the House in June by a bipartisan group of politicians. If the bill gets passed in the Congress it will bring together experts from government, industry, and academia to devise a plan for the creation of a national AI research cloud.
