Google will allow its employees to work from home till July of the next year, reports The Wall Street Journal. The extension will allow around 20,000 employees to work remotely due to the ongoing uncertainty amid the coronavirus pandemic. Google had advised its employees to work from home since the beginning of March this year.
The main aim of extending the remote working policy is to reduce the density of people in
Google’s offices and help in controlling the spreading of virus. Moreover, it will also help working parents to take care of their kids as there is uncertainty about the reopening of schools. Several major tech companies including Twitter, Facebook, Square, and Microsoft among others have implemented and extended work-from-home policies for employees, with some companies allowing remote work to continue indefinitely.
