Google AI System Could Screen Breast Cancer Better

Google AI could detect women with breast cancer with the help of mammograms, similar to radiology experts- according to a study published by Nature Research. Breast cancer affects one out of eight women globally. As per the American Cancer Society, 20% of all breast cancers are missed by radiologists in mammograms, often the diagnostics medical report is erroneous.

Researchers in the US and UK compared the artificial intelligence system’s result with original results from about 25,856 mammograms in the UK and 3,097 from the US. They reported Google AI could enhance the accuracy rate with reduced errors by 5.7 % and 1.2% in the US and the UK reports, respectively.
