The Robot Operating System now offers robotic cloud computing thanks to FogROS. The package is included in the newest release of the open-source Robotic Operating System, ROS 2 Humble Hawksbill, which is the eighth release of ROS 2.
FogROS 2 was announced as part of the next version of ROS. Version one, released last summer, was a proof-of-concept version. The teams secretly released a preview of FogROS 2 on GitHub in March, and it is now available to everyone, with a number of modifications aimed at improving cloud-based performance.
Future versions of the application may include support for more platforms, such as Google Cloud and Azure.
