Equinix Announces Its Fourth Data Centre in India with 86 Million USD Investment

Equinix, a data center corporation based in the United States, has announced an initial investment of US$86 million in a new data center in Mumbai. 

The new data center, known as MB3, will be Equinix’s third in Mumbai and will be close to the company’s two existing facilities. The first phase of MB3 is set to open in Q2 2024, with an initial capacity of over 1,375 cabinets and a total capacity of over 4,150 cabinets when completed. 

It is estimated to provide roughly 24MW of IT load when completed. Equinix launched its initial entry into India last September when it paid 161 million USD for GPX Global Systems business. The deal comprised the purchase of two GPX data center buildings in Mumbai.
