Eftpos, the Australian debit card company, has recently announced the launch of its first attempt in the digital payment – the digital payment service to retailers and banks.
It has been focusing on processing regular card-on-file payments initially. This new service will enable merchants to route the regular payments when the payment provider stores a card. The company also announced that it is teaming up with Australia Post to carry out a new digital identity solution.
Many banks across the country have signed up for the Eftpos’ digital payment system. Stephen Benton, CEO at Eftpos, mentioned in a statement, “Eftpos is synonymous with low-cost debit card payments in-store at retailers across Australia, and we’re excited to start making headway in the digital payment space.”
