A new report from technology analyst firm Omdia and Vertiv says the growth in edge
computing has the potential to generate new revenue opportunities for operators. The rise in edge computing growth is slated to open up new areas of competition as nearly 40% of
respondents believe network operators will be most important in the creation of new revenue services from edge. Some of the top edge players are expected to be application developers (30%) and public cloud providers (25%). According to the report, edge computing growth will help in driving new services related to 5G, IoT, and other innovative technologies.
