Dell Technologies Inc. isn’t commonly mentioned when it comes to 5G connection products and services, but that’s changing quickly.
Dell announced on June 9 that it is creating an open standards-based, cloud-native telecom ecosystem with new infrastructure, a slew of new reference architectures, key industry partners (including Red Hat, Intel, and VMware), and a dedicated 5G innovation lab, all with the goal of expanding the company’s business in the telecommunications service providers (CSPs) market.
Previously, telecommunications gear and software had not been a mainstay for Dell. The company now views this as a significant new business opportunity.
