Anduril Industries Inc., a defence technology startup launched in 2017 by Oculus VR Inc. founder Palmer Luckey, has raised a USD 1.48 billion funding round. According to Axios today, Anduril is valued at USD 8.48 billion in the Series E round. The investment was headed by Valor Equity Partners.
More than a dozen other investors, including Lightspeed Ventures, General Catalyst, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz, joined it. In May, news of Anduril’s most recent funding round first surfaced. Previously, the business completed a USD 450 million Series D funding round in June of last year. According to Crunchbase, Anduril has received USD 1.9 billion in investment money since its debut.
Palmer Luckey, the creator of virtual reality headset manufacturer Oculus VR, introduced Anduril in 2017. For USD 2 billion, Meta Platforms Inc. and later Facebook Inc. purchased it in 2014.
