Aiven Ltd., a startup that offers managed cloud versions of open-source data management tools, has acquired Kafkawize Technology Solutions, another startup.
The agreement was announced by Aiven, but no financial details were provided. Aiven received USD210 million in funding a few months prior to the acquisition from a group of significant investors that included BlackRock, Salesforce Ventures, and others. The Series D funding round valued the startup with headquarters in Finland at over USD3 billion.
The startup that Aiven purchased, Kafkawize, offers the same-named open-source tool. Using Apache Kafka, an open-source platform that helps businesses move data between their applications, is made simpler by the tool.
