
According to the latest report from Check Point Research, coronavirus-related cyber-attacks have increased by 30% compared with the previous weeks. These cyber-attacks encompass malicious websites with the word “corona” or “covid” in the domain name and files attached to coronavirus-related phishing emails. Phishing emails are impersonating organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations.

As per the research, two types of extortion emails purportedly sent from the WHO and the United Nations are asking victims to donate to COVID-19 funds.
