Confluent, founded by the creators of the event streaming platform Apache Kafka, launches Premium Connector that integrates Confluent Platform, its enterprise distribution of Kafka, with Oracle Database.
This will help unite conventional OLTP (online transaction processing) relational databases with modern big data analytics technology. It will also bring an enterprise software sensibility to that newer-generation technology stack.
According to Confluent, the Oracle CDC connector is the first in a series of Premium Connectors designed specifically to target mission-critical enterprise systems that are complex to integrate with Kafka environments.
