Colombia Awards Bandwidth

Colombia has awarded three operators with bandwidth in $1.5 Billion auctions to help to improve the mobile services and spread out the internet access. The operators who were awarded bandwidth include Claro, Tigo de Millicom, and Novator Partners.

It is considered to be the largest mobile connectivity project in Colombia that allows bringing the internet in the rural areas of Colombia for the first time. As per the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications, Claro was awarded 20 MHz in the 700 MHz bands and 30 Mhz in the 2,500 MHz band. For Tigo, its 40 MHz in 700 Mhz band, and Novator Partners has got 20 MHz in 700 Mhz band and 30 MHz in 2,500 Mhz band.
