Microsoft had initially announced the launch of the cloud syncing functionality for Windows Outlook scheduled for June. The update was however postponed and has been rescheduled to September. The decision was updated in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. The change in launch data was attributed to users’ early feedback and the additional code changes required to allow cloud roaming options.
The latest cloud syncing feature will sync various settings in the cloud and deliver roaming profiles. The list available for syncing includes Mail, Search, People, Tasks, Advanced, Ease of Access, Calendar, General, Groups, etc. Microsoft said the main reason for cloud roaming functionality is to boost the user experience when using Outlook for Microsoft.
