A Stockholm-based cloud communications provider, Sinch is acquiring the US-based voice communications provider Inteliquent for $1.14 billion. The major acquisition provides Sinch a more powerful foothold in the US and puts it in a better position to battle against Twilio.
Oscar Werner, Sinch CEO, said in a statement that becoming a leader in the US voice industry is essential to establish Sinch as the foremost global cloud communications provider. Furthermore, the joint leadership in voice and messaging will give a unique position to boost their business and power a world-class customer experience for their customers.
