Clearlake Capital to Buy Quest Software from Francisco Partners

Private equity firm Clearlake Capital has struck a deal to buy Quest Software Inc. from Francisco Partners, valuing the Aliso Viejo, California-based company at $5.4 billion including debt.

The deal is the latest sign of private-equity firms’ voracious appetite for software.

The deal, expected to be announced as soon as Monday, values Quest at $5.4 billion including debt, according to people familiar with the matter. The deal to buy Quest comes a month after it bought identity access-management business OneLogin for an undisclosed price.
