Carta Inc., a cloud platform that assists entrepreneurs with the capital compliances, has closed a $500 million investment headed by Silver Lake.
Carta’s investment is valued at $7.4 billion, according to founder and CEO Henry Ward, who made the news now. This is up from $3.1 billion the previous year.
Carta is a cloud-based application that manages capitalization tables for over 20,000 businesses. The documents that explain which investors hold what percentage of a business are known as cap tables in the IT industry. They frequently include financial data as well.
