Carlyle Taps Financing Firms to Fund Mphasis Acquisition

Carlyle, the private equity company, has recently announced that it is negotiating with Barclays, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Nomura, and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board to buyout funding. JP Morgan is also expected to join the consortium.

The company plans to fund its bid to buy Blackstone-owned Mphasis Limited. This deal is emerging as a potential frontrunner to buy the IT services company and could be a significant buyout in the sector.

In this context, Blackstone does not agree only with Carlyle to be the bidder. As a result, it indicated to keep the competition on-going in order to maximize its value.
