Capella Space, a startup providing information services, raises USD 60M to increase imaging capacity

Capella Space Corp., a startup in the information services industry, has announced that it has raised USD 60 million in additional funding to increase its imaging capacity and create new data products for clients who require regular, timely, and high-quality synthetic-aperture radar imagery.

The U.S. Innovative Technology Fund provided growth equity financing for the new funding. According to information from Crunchbase, Capella Space has raised about USD 239 million in total, including the most recent round. NightDragon, DCVC, Cota Capital, Alumni Ventures, and Artiman Ventures are a few previous investors. The money will be used to help Capella create and launch its upcoming Acadia satellites. The new satellites have an improved design that gives customers access to higher resolutions, more imaging capacity, and quicker delivery options.
