Following a tender in which 20 firms participated, the next integrator for cloud infrastructure services for the Brazilian federal government has been selected.
Extreme Digital Solutions (EDS) submitted the lowest bid of the tendering phase, for a two-year deal that includes the incorporation of cloud platforms for federal government agencies, at 65.9 million reais ($12.3 million).
The EDS plan, which was preferred over the 71.4 million reais ($13.3 million) bid by current cloud broker Claro-Embratel, contains offerings from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Huawei, and Google; the request for proposals needed at least two cloud providers with data centers in Brazil.
