AWS announced they are extending its cloud to 5G networks in partnership with Verizon Communications Inc. The program, AWS Wavelength and is one of several new ways that Amazon Web Services is pushing its cloud into new territory. Hence, developers can run latency-sensitive programs on mobile and connected devices.

With this partnership, Verizon would be able to bring more power to its 5G edge. In 2018, AWS was their preferred public cloud provider for its business applications and database systems.

At Amazon’s annual conference in Las Vegas, a new infrastructure platform called Local Zones was declared as debuting in LA. It will help nearby users run speed-intensive applications or gaming.
