Amazon Web Services Inc. has announced the general availability of AWS IoT RoboRunner, a cloud service that makes it easier for companies to manage their robot fleets.
At the annual AWS re:Invent conference hosted by the cloud giant last year, RoboRunner made its initial debut. It is based on technology used by Amazon.com Inc., the parent company of AWS, in its logistics network. In its fulfillment centers, Amazon employs more than 520,000 robots, and it has a business division devoted to creating specialized warehouse automation machinery.

In order to automate tasks like processing merchandise, industrial robots are used in factories, warehouses, and other facilities. AWS claims that RoboRunner can assist businesses in both gathering and processing the data generated by their robot fleets.
