AWS and Maple Leaf announce cloud innovation deal-01

Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) have announced a new deal that will see AWS provide cloud services to key Canadian sports franchises.

MLSE will work with cloud major AWS to create a “real experience mixed at home and on the field” by combining visual data from cameras around the stadium with sensors in players’ jerseys and a puck or ball.

MLSE plans to use Amazon Rekognition and Amazon Kinesis to process and analyze video. The company wants to use video cameras installed in stadiums and gymnasiums to inform decisions within the game.
