Advanced Micro Devices Inc. has introduced two new graphics cards, the Radeon RX 7800 XT and Radeon RX 7700 XT, which will increase competition in the consumer chip market for Nvidia Corp.
In recent years, business spending on standalone graphics processing units has outpaced consumer demand. However, the market for desktop GPUs is still very large. Recently, Nvidia revealed that the gaming division, which primarily produces consumer graphics cards, brought in USD 2.49 billion in revenue during the previous quarter. The new RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT AMD graphics processors are priced in the middle of the GPU spectrum.
Their price will be USD 499, which is a significant discount from the USD 900 AMD’s top-tier consumer GPU. According to the company, the two chips can deliver 20% more performance for every dollar spent than comparable Nvidia silicon.
