The collaboration will help cement the importance of AMD’s position in hybrid cloud platforms and help the data center with a better foothold in the enterprise environment. The two organizations are already familiar with each other on many different fronts. Also, the two organizations have connections with GlobalFoundries. The company is renowned for manufacturing AMD chips in 2008 and bought IBM’s processor business six years later.
