Amazon's new Accelerator program to raise revenue for Alexa Skill devs

In an effort to help current developers and attract new creators, Amazon has unveiled the Alexa Skill Developer Accelerator Program. This initiative will increase the budget for engineers who make less than $ 1 million per year and will provide alternative assistance and benefits to all stakeholders.

From the second quarter of 2022, all eligible engineers will receive an 80% reduction in their Alexa Skills -skills. This includes the proceeds from the acquisition of Skills, subscriptions, and the first sale of all Paid Skills. By default, Amazon will take another 20% cut.

The launch next to this new revenue sharing model will be a series of additional benefits the company plans to offer to developers.
