QuickSight Q, a business intelligence application that enables customers to view their data by typing in inquiries in natural language, was just made generally available by Amazon Web Services. QuickSight Q was announced at Amazon’s re:Invent conference last year, pushing up the company’s threat to established business intelligence products.
QuickSight Q employs machine learning to automatically recognize a question and its relevance to business data, then provides answers and relevant visualizations in seconds. Auto-complete suggestions for essential phrases and business terms are also provided. Users aren’t confined to asking a specific set of questions because QuickSight Q doesn’t rely on prebuilt dashboards and reports.
