Amazon is working on a more robust data center chip, according to Reuter’s reports. The company’s cloud computing unit has designed a super-powered data center processor chip that will be at least 20% faster than Amazon’s first Arm-based chip. The new AWS chip uses technology from Softbank Group Corp-owned Arm Holdings, added the report.
Amazon’s first Arm-based chip, Graviton was released last year. The new launch comes from the company’s cloud computing division, as it focuses on reducing its reliance on server chips from Intel and AMD.
