Amazon Aurora to support PostgreSQL 12

AWS recently announced the launch of Amazon Aurora. It is a PostgreSQL and MySQL compatible relational database developed for the cloud. The database system now supports the major version 12 of PostgreSQL.

The open-source object-relational database system utilizes and extends the SQL language. The new version allows better partitioning features, execution of JSON path queries per SQL/ JSON requirements, and improved index management. Additional to the support, now users can also upgrade their Amazon Aurora database cluster from the PostgreSQL version 11 to 12. Instead of having to backup and restore to the latest version, end-users can upgrade via few clicks through Amazon RDS Management Console or CLI or the AWS SDK.
