Intrinsic, an Alphabet-owned robotics subsidiary is purchasing Vicarious, a robotics and Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS) start-up based in the United States, for an unknown sum.
Vicarious, a company that specializes in artificial intelligence and robotics, has raised 250 million USD in funding from Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Samsung.
Along with Vicarious CTO Dileep George, an AI and neuroscience expert, a smaller team from Vicarious will join DeepMind’s research team. Intrinsic CEO Wendy Tan-White stated in the initial announcement post that the company has been cooperating with organisations throughout Alphabet.
