Akamai recently announced a strategic equity investment, go-to-market partnership, and product integrations with Macrometa Corporation, a GDN and edge-computing cloud, to realize its vision of a new, better cloud.
Andy Champagne, CTO of Akamai Labs, will join the Macrometa board as a nonvoting board observer in conjunction with Akamai’s equity investment in Macrometa. With this investment, a comprehensive technology and multiyear product collaboration is launched in order to deliver a widely used edge-cloud platform designed for businesses.

The partnership between Macrometa and Akamai entails product and technology integrations as well as a preferred go-to-market strategy through which Akamai will make Macrometa products available to its global sales force, partner channels, and enterprise clients.
