AI computer maker Graphcore Announces new 3D chip-01

Graphcore, an England-based AI chips and systems maker, has announced a new 3D chip called “Bow”. The new chip will use two stacked semiconductor dies, which will speed up applications by 40 percent, while minimizing power consumption.

The company also announced updated models for its multi-processor computers, called “IPU-POD,” running the Bow Chip, which the company claims to be five times faster than comparable DGX machines. 

Graphcore is also working on computer design called The Good Computer which will manage neural network models that use 500 billion parameters.
