AI-based identity verification startup Onfido Ltd has secured $100 million in the latest round of funding. The Series D funding was led by TPG Growth, which brings the total amount raised by Onfido to $200 million. The UK-based startup builds tools to enable virtual identity verification, and its main product is a software platform that offers a simple for people way to verify who they are over the internet using a mobile device. Onfido plans to use the newly raised capital to refine its machine learning technology and scale up its business to new territories.
