Ahana, which provides a fully managed service on Amazon Web Services (AWS) based on the open-source Presto query engine, has announced that it has raised a 7.2 million USD top-up to its series A fundraising round. The latest round bring the total funds raised to 32 million USD.
The company also announced Ahana Cloud Community Edition (CE), a free layer of the service that it now describes as an open data lakehouse. Liberty Global Ventures is leading the latest investment, with GV on board as well (Google Ventures).
According to Steven Mih, cofounder and CEO of Ahana, the funds will be used to expand the company’s market and improve the Presto community.
